Mead & Hunt is an engineering and architectural firm that was looking for a software-defined storage solution for its production and disaster recovery data centers. With the many Windows SDS vendors in the market, it was difficult to choose the right vendor to work with. They were looking for a vendor with:
- Strong reputation
- Staying power
- Full-service support
- Guaranteed end-to-end Windows 2016 and ReFS compatibility
After an initial search, they turned to Ned Pyle, Principal Program Manager in the Windows Server High Availability and Storage Group at Microsoft, for a recommendation. Ned had worked extensively with DataON for several years and knew their products well.
Mead & Hunt found it easy to work with DataON and are extremely happy with their new storage solution. After deploying a DataON CiB solution with Windows Server 2016 Storage Spaces, they were able to significantly increase throughput, reclaim 12TB of disk space, and consolidate their storage rack size from 24U to 2U.
